While still a powerful force the gap is closing on UW. Harvard took a good look at them last fall. We know this though, as well as NU, Brown etc. I guess I am looking for that surprise in the final, possibly Yale? Maybe a Princeton. That final is getting crowded.

Yeah. It's going to be a great year for racing, that much is certain.

Rumor Central has that the Huskies were in Chula a few weeks ago by invite from our esteemed national team coach, Mr. McGee. Also,it was implied, that pieces were done with the US guys. Can anyone confirm or deny? If true, what happened? Also, why UW? Why not Cal, Harvard, etc...? The current regime is trying (sort of) I think to establish good relations with collegiate coaches. I know for a fact that one of the finalists from last year's IRA is seriously PO'd about this. Mr Jordan, time to do a little damage control.

It's no big deal - anyone who has lived at Chula for awhile will tell you they host foreign national teams all the time...

Good one. Come to think of it, Lake Beresford hosts the Canadian national team all the time. Holy sh*t, maybe they did some pieces with Cornell! Where's my tinfoil hat?!?!

Cornell and the Canadians should be about the same speed - I'd love to see that race. Do I need a funny hat to watch?

According to this: http://www.gohuskies.com/ViewArticle.db ... =208031845 they've been going since 1993. So that means Korzo, Spracklen, Teti, Imes, Terharr, Hartmut, Grinko, all have invited them down. My guess is they ask the OTC and are allowed to train, but don't live on site. Would be interested to know really if other teams have asked and been denied. I think I read once that WSU women have gone there (could be wrong though).

Let's chat about which "teams" will really bring a "team" of all 4 eights 1V, 2V, 3V, 1F. Those are the points boats, is there still a 4+?

Yes, The Varsity 4+ is still an event but no, it is not in the points equation.

Is there still a men's open 4+ or has it gone the way of the F4+ after 2008.

I thought the real reason that UW go to OTC is to train with the seals at Coronado ever since they had a Navy Seal on their team.

Even though it is below freezing in Seattle, the Husky are on the water again training for gold. The picture shows the ice on the Washington riggers after a couple of hours on the lake.

That's a cool picture, but literally nothing in that post is unique to the huskies. You could take that picture in probably 50+ boathouses every single year.
