thoughts? looks hard to keep up. I've seen the hydrofoil kayak, or 'flyak' and the claims that it is far faster than a normal racing kayak, would the same be true for a single? would this even the playing field LW vs HW?

It's sick. I want one now. Preferably with the sliding rigger.
Some say that he once pulled a 5:56 2k arms and back only, and that his erg does float. All we know is that he's called The Stig.

I'd settle for just a sliding rigger boat

Stig: Don't forget the apparatus that allows you to row facing forward, the low drag hoodie suit and the 3M speed tape on the hull.

No kidding; my sweet tickets to see them in seattle is looking like a poor investment. At least they don't suck as bad as the Mariners

Typical Seattle Team - looks great in the preseason, gets whiskeydick in the regular season.

The boat is freakin' awesome. I also want one.

I'd like to see what kind of HP water speed records a top sculler could register.

Actually, ever since I saw the flyak, I knew it could be done for a rowing shell. I just don't have the time to buy a single and make it. I actually even envisioned using a sliding rigger.

I just want to know what kind of speed improvement they are seeing.

Speaking of... has the flyak been banned from international competition?

mahe vs. purchase both with hydrofoil boats who wins? we know mahe would win in a standard single. does the hydrofoil give the lightweight a chance? purchase would certainly sit higher out of the water, and it would require less power for purchase to keep his boat in the planing mode.
