Even more interesting are the two Empacher wooden singles:

Re: cleaning C2 orange handles
It's probably the same on every type of grip: I'd chose an abresive pad and some soap.
Then, in future, I'd recommend to clean the grips after (or before) each row. IMO improves grip feel a lot to have clean grips each time.

Re: Seats
Is anyone able to share pictures or even measurements of the Croker seat top underside? I would like to mount it on a 165 mm undercarriage. Website says it only supports 180 mm, but we have been able to mount all sorts of seats tops to 165 undercarriages, so I sense a chance that the Croker might fi...

Re: Geezus, let it go man!!!! Let it GO!!!!!!!
So, Ian says in his video that we'd rather want a drop shaped oar shaft, then we'd not need the stickers. Then we should look at Dreher's solution: https://www.durhamboat.com/oars/sculling-oars/elliptical-sculls/ (aerodynamic) By coincidence, I picked up a set of Dreher Aerodynamic sculls after my c...

Seats
When looking through seat options, some shapes appear to be almost equal to each other. I know that the Dreher large hole seat is equal to the Empacher large hole seat (and is perhaps event manufactured by Dreher). Now I notice similarities between the Croker, Fluidesign, Filippi and Empacher closed...

Filippi Oarlock 3.0
Anyone else who thinks WTF? http://filippiboats-8964487.hs-sites.com/en/quick-fast-setting-filippi-boats-oarlock-3.0 I have never seen people messing with their gates at elite level, and for club level it's too expensive and I'd say overengineered and prone to quick wear. So what's the appeal as a m...

Re: Norm's annual cold water rant
At the risk of being considered really uncool. Me/my club has discovered that the para-pontoons are a great tool to get people on the water and massively reduce the risk of falling in. So for people considering going out/not, the pontoons may help with the decision (if you consider WITH pontoons to ...

Hit a nav-buoy during practice on the regatta course in Brandenburg/Havel. Rowers are fine, did race afterwards in another boat but missed finals.

AFAIK, the brand "Deutschlandachter" is not owned by the federation, but the Deutschlandachter GmbH (Limited liability company), and so are all social media accounts with that name.

I think Dreher does a good job, too. Currently I see them as the real innovators. C2 and Croker still build more or less the same as 30 years ago.

Melvin Twellar in the eight. Remarkable, I'd say. Something that was also pointed out in the commentary during the live broadcast.
A model for others?
The Ukranian eight likewise. 4 scullers along with 4 others form a better eight than what Germanys federation can come up with.

Re: Geezus, let it go man!!!! Let it GO!!!!!!!
I think buyers should not care who uses what. Otherwise we should not see anything else but Empacher and Filippi on the waters. And equipment manufacturers should claim other's success less than they do now. It's almost certain that those guys listed above would have won easily with any oar. Let's f...

Re: Shoe recommendations for 1x?
I'm easy on my shoes and lucky enough to have stocked some adidas shoes while they were available. So all my boats have adidas shoes, the silver space ships (I think the Athens model) and the Beijing model with the bright green cover. All in pretty pristine conditions. Happy with that because there ...
