I think I've felt a good catch a few times; I can't repeat the feeling, but once in a while it is there. It always comes as a surprise, when I'm not overthinking too much, and on one stroke out of hundreds I find myself already connected so early; I think that's what I should be looking for. I usually get flustered by it because it feels like it comes too soon and I don't really complete the stroke well because I'm so shocked it happened.

One thing that Frank Cunningham always told me was that a good catch *always* comes as a surprise - even if you put 200 of them together, a good catch is always an abrupt change from the recovery and that instinctual shock is what makes your body tense up *just right* to bury the blade with feeling. 200 surprises is a good race.
