Why did the Lords need/want to debate women's rowing?

Yes, I too was wondering what was the point of this? Is there nothing more pressing happening in the UK right now?

They sometimes have 'debates' that aren't much way to call attention to something they like. Given the nature of what they said, some of them did sound like they'd been briefed by BNY Mellon to promote the boat race and Helena Morrissey.

There was also a debate on women in the workforce last week as well and today, as I sure you've not forgotten, is International Women's Day.

Given the concern over rampant sexism in British sport, maybe they will debate changing the name to the House of Lords and Ladies, then? In honor of International Women's Day, you know...
