Waterrower splits

Post by loblaw »

Was curious about waterrower vs C2 splits/500m and didn't find a good answer but now have one: about 10 seconds/500m.

I just did a 2000m test at 5:55 on the Waterrower as a 45 year old former lightweight. It's pretty sweet to see the meters fly by like that! Even at my best was 6:15 and now I'm like 6:30ish. I find it actually feels heavier than the C2 on slides with lowish drag factor and hard to keep a rythm over 30 spm. I started trianing a couple of times a week at Orange Theory to help keep the fitness up and now I'm the rowing God as I beat the gym record by like 20 seconds and --not knowing that you get about 40 seconds bonus-- they're like, "you almost broke the world record!".

haha, had the same experience when I dropped in on a OTF class. I'm way out of rowing shape, but was still crushing 1ks under 3 mins. Huge ego boost.
