When you sue just to stop the cancellation of the program, and then the admin agrees to more or less triple the investment if you drop the case, they done fahhked up somewhere.

The husband is UConn and the wife is women's rowing at UConn. Women's rowing at UConn is not competitive, no matter what the settlement brings.Slim wrote:I don’t get it. 2026 date is strange. I'm guessing they're around longer than that, but a longer guarantee seems like it would be helpful in recruiting

It does beg the question of what is being covered up.
It is one thing to reinstate a program, quite another to up the ante with indoor tanks, boathouse renovation & increasing from 14 --> 20 scholarships.
Thus the Goodell quote - "we acknowledge no wrong-doing, but here is a boatload of funding if you sign the agreement [to stay quiet]"
Re: Covid-19 Vs UConn Women's Rowing 1-0
UConn is just doing what just about every other school does - fudging title ix compliance and hopes they don’t get sued. They almost all get away with it because current student athletes are very unlikely to sue their institutions, but they’re the only ones who have standing.
