Has any US based even been well attended?
Agreed, beyond Juniors not a lot. Used to be 3 groups of machines, now only 1

To Crash B failing
Disagree. Thought it was pretty cool at the New Balance TRACK. Kids wanted to go to see Boston and see universities. Masters enjoy going up too. I think it'll float.
Air was a little dry for PRs though. My stats would say that more of my athletes should have Pr'd but who knows.

It needs more competitors
Air dryness has always been an issue in bigger arenas for some reason, I wonder how the runners handle it.

Yes, it needs more competitors for financial viability at the very least. And it needs more top-level competitors for the prestige/relevance draw. Maybe CRASH-Bs future is the erg championship for "the rest of us." I'm okay with that. A hammer is still a hammer, iykyk.

I agree in that I think CRASH-B will be around a lot longer unless the organizers give it up and there’s nobody to take the wheel. Sure, it’s not the premier event anymore, but it could still exist in some form even if it’s in a high school gym somewhere like a lot of the other events that have popped up in recent years. I felt like it was actually the biggest year ever for indoor rowing so maybe if the calendar is a bit more kind to it next year it could still be something people want to go to.

Here’s the thing
Slides or no slides
Look at the average rate
Look at the pacing
Look at the pulse.
This guy knows exactly when his lactic production accelerates and stays a millimeter from that the entire way
The rate is the concept that pull less hard, rate higher, keep the wheel moving while producing less lactic acid. Same with the Romanian concept on the water. Watts per stroke is less but do more of them

Re: How fast is fast indoors?
Remarkable, does anyone know what their training program is like? I realize they're phenoms but they're also training very well to be going this fast.
Also interesting to see the near minute difference between the two bothers. For some reason I thought Valent was the stronger brother, he certainly looks bigger -- just looked, seems like Martin is 4kg heavier but .2m shorter. Not to take anything away from an 18:33, but still, wonder if Valent was sick or injured recently.
Wild that they're abandoning the double. When I think about the pair, both the Swiss and Irish seem beatable for these two. The British should be dominant but they're not, at least not consistently. I guess these two figure the Netherlands have a killer fast combo.
