They are also rowing in the mixed 8 with Cambridge BC.

Union looks pretty stacked.

The Marlow driver is also pretty good. :) Will definitely be helpful starting in the middle of the pack.

Folks on Reddit keep posting that Marin and Oakland have curtailed their on-water training because of the fires. True, or fake news?

Women
1. Gevvie Stone- between shifts she has been training and training well .
2 .Mary Jones - Cambridge Boat Club ( sorry Vesper) will crowd the podium spots, she should have "home course " advantage now
3. Felice Mueller- Will come down the power house power with very high speed, hopefully she does not get lost in the turns up river

**** Dark Horse watch, Lindsay Meyer, we are very impressed with her speed and the ability to have the most fun while doing it
Another dark horse in W1X is Anna Thornton of UW, she’s current U23 W4X World Champion And World Rowing’s “rising Star” of the month.

Always interesting to look at the mix of nationalities in the top US college boats...this is the breakdown for the top 10 college crews in men's champ 8's (excl coxes)

UW
4 x USA
2 x NED
1 x SRB, ITA, GER

Yale
4 x GBR (although I believe one of those is out injured and being replaced by the sole US athlete in the boat)
3 x NZL
1 x FRA

Cal
2 x AUT
1 x GBR, DEN, NED, POL, SRB, SLO

Boston
3 x USA
2 x GER
1 x Nor, GBR, NED

Wisco
8 x USA

Brown
5 x USA
2 x GBR
1 x NED

Northeastern
4 x USA
2 x NZL
1 x AUS, GER

Harvard
3 x USA
3 x GBR
1 x GER, AUS

Princeton A
3 x USA
3 x GBR
1 x BEL, CAN

Princeton B
3 x USA
3 x GBR
2 x GER

So overall:
USA 33 (possibly 34)
GBR 17 (possibly 16)
GER 7
NZL 5
NED 5
AUS 2
SRB 2
AUT 2
CAN 1
POL 1
BEL 1
SLO 1
DEN 1
FRA 1
NOR 1

UW was a bit wobbly on the practice course yesterday while Harvard and BU were striking with impressive rowing technique.
