During Perry’s tenure with the organization, USA Gymnastics lost all of its key sponsors, and its national championships in August were held without a title sponsor, almost unheard of for one of the marquee Olympic sports in the United States.
That's...bad. USOC is about to cut your funding, and you've lost all your commercial sponsors. What's the recourse here though? I don't think that revoking status as NGB means actual dissolution, right? AFAIK, it's just removing all USOC funding.

I doubt there's a second governing body ready to step in and fill the vacuum, so the only way to salvage the situation is to *really* clean house and pull in good leaders, right?

They have had a great run at been apologists for a serial child molester.

Then their next president & CEO tweet about blacklisting Nike...who sponsors Simone Biles...currently one of the greatest athletes in the US.
They have wholly lost their athletes' trust, of course they need to lose their funding.
