Word is Laura Simon has left Yale and coaching all together.
Add that to the list of openings.

Not the first time a stop at Yale is the last stop for a coach.

Why makes you think UNC would suddenly now be serious about women's rowing?Norm wrote:...leaving an opening at UVA.okayrower wrote:Erin Neppel heading to UNC as their new head coach.

It will take a Title IX law suit for the program to be taken seriously. It is a poor reflection on the alumni that it hasn't already happened.

Lot of people reassessing after the pandemic. Something like 40% of Americans are considering leaving their jobs. Coaching is really hard, doesn’t pay that well, and the career path relies on turnover for advancement.

What advice would you give to a young coach considering our current climate?….
Re: Coaching Counsel 2021
Be clear eyed about what you are doing and think hard about what you want your career path to be. Do you want to be a D1 head coach? What’s most important to you about coaching? How important is winning? How important is stability? How will you react when an athlete tries to get you fired? Where are you willing to live?
Re: Coaching Counsel 2021
I’d add be mindful of who you would be working with, who are your mentors, who are your higher ups.Slim wrote:Be clear eyed about what you are doing and think hard about what you want your career path to be. Upward mobility and longevity in coaching are so dependent on having people around you who will aid in your growth/success.
