Get the vaccine and the booster. Play it safe than lose a loved one or teammate
Re: Do not go into the light!!!!
No debate on the CDC side of things.
I'm only curious as to how the campus C-suite geniuses keep shitting the bed. You should expect near perfection for $75,000 per year.

This has less to do with elite price tag and more to do with young, and vaccinated thinking nothing can touch them…still.rowing wrote:No debate on the CDC side of things.

Get vaccinated and boosted. Still your best bet AND follow indoor masking.

We are still in a pandemic slowly becoming endemic but periodically throwing fits. It would have been well considered to dismiss most of the campus from the semester at Thanksgiving instead of playing national transit pathogen roulette. Nothing good came of the last two weeks. Anyone who claims otherwise is full of $h!t, and charging top dollar for it.
Re: Do not go into the light!!!!
The Ivy elites are only so in their own mind. The fantasy of exceptionalism isn't so.
But like wine, the highest sticker price ensures the masses assume it is the best.
(this isn't to discount individual/specific fields - just speaking to the brand overall from a general consumer)
Speaking to the cost inflation - schools like Yale offer *average* need based financial aid *greater* than the cost of tuition (avg aid of $60,000 a year, tuition $57,000 a year)
Its like seeing department store discounts based on MSRP

Don't forget ~$21,000 in room and board and other expenses. Grand total $78,000+sandor wrote:The Ivy elites are only so in their own mind. The fantasy of exceptionalism isn't so.

Re: Do not go into the light!!!!
So what about all the public universities that also returned to instruction between TG and winter break? Guess they are exempt from criticism because they are an educational bargain….seems they are all damned if they do, damned if they don’t. Can’t make everyone happy..
What’s the point here? Oh wait, there is no point.

Not forgetting, but room & board tend to be much more similar from school to school vs. tuition feesrowing wrote:Don't forget ~$21,000 in room and board and other expenses. Grand total $78,000+sandor wrote:The Ivy elites are only so in their own mind. The fantasy of exceptionalism isn't so.

Like rent & food in different cities & states, the prices vary with the cost of living.
https://student-accounts.yale.edu/tuition-and-fees
Yale, $17,700
https://undergrad.osu.edu/cost-and-aid/basic-costs
Ohio State $13,352
https://admissions.psu.edu/costs-aid/tuition/
Penn State $14,158-17,380
https://www.bu.edu/admissions/tuition-aid/tuition/
BU $16,840
https://www.isu.edu/financialaid/how-fi ... dance-coa/
Idaho State U $8,370
Tuition for these schools range from $0 (ISU in-state) to $59k for Yale & $58k for BU
Your initial point still rings true.

I do not know what schools are doing in regards to mitigation, but the data would suggest *something* must be different.

Puzzled how this rant got into college women's rowing.
Can someone explain?

Re: Do not go into the light!!!!
The publics didn't cause a mass stampede of cancellations in Spring 2020. The Ivies did. Not one mahogany desk powersuit got the boot for that clenched starfish scramble, while many public institutions proved that brains and brawn could co-exist and pull off safe athletics.Cowbells123 wrote:So what about all the public universities that also returned to instruction between TG and winter break? Because college president lemmings could push the NCAA and member leagues into panic. That affects women's rowing far more broadly than men's.Cowbells123 wrote:I assume boredom on the author’s partoldman wrote:Puzzled how this rant got into college women's rowing.
