That said, Perkins’ exit has to give that staff pause. Taking over for a legend, still managed to raise the bar, and I thought could’ve been there for another long run, but got shown the door.

Wasn't that when the school tried to shut the program down? Another guy where if you read between the lines he seemed pretty burned out with trying to do more with the resources he was given by the school. Wisco wouldn't make a ton of sense for him (different flavor of the same challenges) unless it was to help shepherd someone like Hoopman along. He certainly knows how to make guys fast

He was dismissed a couple weeks prior to his planned retirement. No reason was given. The timing overlapped with the admissions scandal but reporting and legal proceedings never showed any wrongdoing related to that matter.

There has been so much turnover in the relatively recent past that it feels like anyone moving from another job would do so artificially quickly. Is now the time when people who have been on the sidelines for a while jump back in? If so, who?
