USRowing is promoting the movie Boys in the Boat on social media saying email someone "for a special screening" for your club.
The email response? It costs $2,500 to $5,000 depending on which city you are in.
Thanks USRowing. You never let us down.

Re: USRowing strikes again!
If they bring Clooney for the screening, sure.

Re: USRowing strikes again!
I assume prerelease or concurrent screening? So what are you bitching about?
Re: USRowing strikes again!
It is pretty Amway to lead with hey I've got a special opportunity for you to watch a movie and then you find out it costs you $5K.

Re: USRowing strikes again!
Tickets run $15-20 around here. Multiply by capacity/headcount and USR group sales check out. MGM is not putting the movie out for free.
Re: USRowing strikes again!
If US rowing can get a pre screening at the Somerville Theater for 250 people, the numbers work. Not a bad fundraiser
There is just not enough space at a club like ours to get the capacity to make the numbers work
Beer and concessions separately …wink

Point to note
Cakewalk, Clooney’s distribution/marketing company asked US Rowing to share with membership.
USRowing doesn’t get any money at all from the screenings fees.
